As part of its national security mission, Rewards for Justice (RFJ) offers rewards for information on foreign government-linked malicious cyber activities against the United States. RFJ also offers rewards for information on terrorism, foreign interference in U.S. elections, and the financial mechanisms of individuals engaged in certain activities to support the North Korean regime. Since 1984, the United States Government has paid in excess of $250 million to more than 125 people who provided actionable information.

On July 25th, 2024, the Rewards for Justice program announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on Rim Jong Hyok (림종혁). Rim Jong Hyok is a North Korean hacker associated with the malicious cyber group Andariel, which is controlled by North Korea’s military intelligence agency.
